Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of 2/5SEX: male
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 23lbs as of 2/5
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home.
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Converse is Looking For: His forever home! This sweetie is in the tail end of puppyhood and and still has all that puppy love for play and snuggles and more play! He hasn't seen nearly enough of the world and is eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved for all her days.

What My Foster Says About Me: Meet Converse, a 5-month-old bundle of love looking for his forever home! This sweet pup is the perfect mix of playful and mellow—he enjoys romping around with his toys and snuggling up for long naps. He’s fantastic with other dogs and kids, making him a great addition to any family. During the day, he stays calm while his foster parents work from home, and at night, he sleeps soundly in his crate without a peep. Converse is starting to be trained on commands like sit and stay, loves long walks or short ones too any opportunity to sniff outside. He is also doing great with being potty trained once he gets a house tour, he is crate trained, and rarely barks—he’s as easygoing as they come! His favorite activities include cuddling up next to his humans, playing with his toys, and soaking up all the love he can get. If you’re looking for a sweet, well-mannered companion, Converse is ready to be your new best friend!

The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
