**Temperament:**Polar is a sociable and affectionate companion who loves interacting with people. He has a playful and energetic personality and enjoys outdoor activities. Polar loves toys and no hide chews. He loves playing with other small dogs.

**Daily Schedule:**
Polar typically wakes up early, goes to the restroom, and, weather permitting, plays in a secure yard. He has two meals each day.

His grooming routine includes haircuts every four months and nail trims every six to eight weeks.

**Ideal Home:**
We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced family familiar with active puppies and their specific personality traits. Polar can vocalize during play and when visitors arrive. A securely fenced yard is essential due to his digging tendencies and natural prey drive. We strongly recommend researching the breeds mentioned above before applying to our rescue.

Due to Polar high energy level and playful barking, he is not suitable for apartment, condo, townhouse, or duplex living. While he enjoys the company of other small dogs, he would thrive in an active family environment as a sole pet.

Before reaching out to us, please ensure you have researched puppy care, including grooming and house training, to ensure a positive adoption experience.

**Training Requirement:**
Polar will benefit greatly from training classes to help him adjust to a new home. Force-Free Dog Obedience Training classes are mandatory for adopting Forest from Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society. This requirement is non-negotiable, and please note that training classes are not included in the adoption fee.

**Adoption Fee:** $760.00 (non-negotiable)
This fee helps cover the veterinary care necessary to make Polar available for adoption, including all vaccinations, neuter surgery, microchip, treatment for retained puppy teeth, and deworming (3 times).

If you do not understand this and complain about the adoption fee, please consider reaching out to another rescue organization. We aim to keep our interactions positive and productive.

If you’re interested in meeting Polar, please join us for one of our meet-and-greet days. Email us at Heartprintsdogadoptions@gmail.com to request our "All About Our Rescue Document."

To help us find the best home for Polar, please provide a brief description of your household, including family members, existing pets, and the typical noise level. Additionally, detail the type and height of your property's fencing and your housing status (rent or own).

Please be aware that due to the high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond to all inquiries. We will only contact applicants who provide all requested information. We do not respond to demanding inquiries, questions about the adoption status, or brief questions such as "Is this dog available?" Moreover, we kindly ask that you refrain from expressing disagreement with any part of Polar's biography, as such communications can place undue stress on our volunteers. Our priority is always the well-being of the dogs in our care.

More about this rescue

We are a 100% not-for-profit society and are volunteer-run and are located in the Edmonton capital region. We are a foster home placement-based rescue. There is NO SHELTER with our rescue. Our rescue works closely with several local rescue groups in Alberta. We have worked with rescue shelters in the United States, and we will transport small breed dogs that are about to be euthanized, then place the dogs in foster homes until a forever family is found. We will provide care for toy-sized and small-breed dogs whose owners are no longer able to care for them. They are placed in stable foster homes until a forever home is found.
