My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application
Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.

Introducing the Puppy Love litter!

These absolutely adorable and each unique mixed-breed cuties were born 11/28/24, and have all been spayed/neutered so are ready to head to their forever homes. We can see some Australian Cattle Dog (heeler) in their assorted blue and red and tricolor markings... as they get bigger, we see some sort of bully breed in the mix... plus a whole lotta LeMutte (aka Heinz 57 we-dunno breeds). One of my favorite childhood books was The Poky Little Puppy - these cuties could easily star in a live action adaptation (SO CUTE).

Two of the siblings left for their new homes on 2/8/25, and the rest are excited for their opportunities!

Mama weighs just under 60 pounds, so larger than a full heeler - clearly she and papa both have a wonderful mix of genetics just like their babies. It's nearly impossible to predict the exact size of the adult pups - probably all will be somewhere between 45 - 70 pounds, but no guarantees! Weights as of 11 weeks of age are listed below, so you can tell who is on the larger vs smaller end of the spectrum.

These pups are fun and playful little speckled fuzzy bundles of cuddles with teeth, ready for you to teach them how to be the best doggos they can be. Yes, puppy training can be daunting, but it's not forever, and when you're finished with the basics, you can move on to all sorts of fun activities with one of these energetic people-pleasers.

This litter includes:

LOVEBUG: female, white w/ red mask, blue ticking, 20 pounds at 11 weeks

VALENTINA: female, white w/ red mask, red spot on each shoulder and one on left hind end, 15 pounds at 11 weeks

ROSE: female, white w/ red mask, white tip on left ear, red spot on left side, 15 pounds at 11 weeks

CASANOVA: male, white w/ red mask, red ticking throughout, red spot at base of tail, 22 pounds at 11 weeks

ROMEO: white w/ red patches over eyes, red ticked ears, front feet, head, BIGGEST, 24 pounds at 11 weeks

SWEETS: male, white w/ black patch and red outline over right eye, blue ticking on head, 17 pounds at 11 weeks

Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet, and will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty!

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area (Monroe, WA), delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Additional adoption info

Our minimum adoption donations are indicated on each pet's listing.

The first step toward adoption is to fill out the application, which we can email to you or you can find on our website:

http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application

Filling out the application in no way commits you to adopting - it simply enables us to get you preapproved, in case you decide you want to adopt. If you are then approved and offered a pet placement, you may always refuse the placement. If you accept a placement, we always give you three days (for puppies and kittens) or thirty days (for adult dogs and cats) to live with each other; if during that time you decide that your new pet simply won't work out, for any reason, we will accept the pet back with a full refund of your adoption donation. You could either return the pet directly to us, or have it picked up on our next transport! I must say, we are very proud of our successful placement record - we really work hard to make sure you and your pet will be a great match.

If you are out of our immediate area, we ask that you email some photos of your home, yard (including fence if you have one), any "animal-specific" areas (such as a dog run, cat tree, or sleeping area) and any other pets you currently own. Sometimes photos enable us to skip the pre-adoption home visit, which can speed things up considerably for out of area adoptions! For the vet reference, either a vet who is seeing your current pets, or a vet who saw a former pet, is acceptable. If this is your first pet ever, congratulations on joining the pet world! :-D We will consider your application without a vet reference, but we would like to know what vet you think you will use for your pet. Without a vet reference, please be sure to provide at least two strong personal references who would know how you are with animals.

If we have an upcoming transport scheduled to your area, we will make every effort to process and approve your application in time for the transport.
