My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3.5 years
Weight: 27.4 kg

A little bit about Pumpkin:
- children unknown; interactions should be supervised
- no cats in home required
- no dogs in home required
- has some leash reactivity

Fresh from the patch, it`s Pumpkin! This sweet former stray has had a rough start to life which can be seen from the scars scattered across her head and body, but she isn`t letting that slow her down! Pumpkin`s a friendly, outgoing girl that loves to spend time being where her people are, cuddled up for pets or engaging in some playtime. Staffies are known for being strong, energetic dogs with hearts of gold, and Pumpkin is no exception! But Pumpkin isn`t aware of how strong she can be as she can get jumpy and mouthy when she`s over-excited, so is looking for a patient family that is able to help her learn some better doggy manners. Pumpkin has displayed some indicators of prey drive; we are currently looking for a home without any small animals to tempt her. Fall in love with Pumpkin today by giving this lovebug a visit!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
