Kado is a one-year-old social butterfly who absolutely loves people and being the center of attention! With his sleek black fur and striking green eyes, he’s as handsome as he is charming.

Kado has tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), a virus that affects the immune system and can lead to a shorter lifespan. However, FeLV+ cats are just like any other—they love, play, and cuddle just the same! Because of his diagnosis, Kado can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals. He adores his fellow FeLV+ shelter friends and would love to go home with a buddy!

BAHS waives adoption fees for FeLV+ cats and offers post-adoption support to help them thrive in their new homes. If you’re ready to give this affectionate, outgoing boy a loving home, fill out an adoption application on our website!.All animals have been spayed/neutered, have been tested for heartworm/feline leukemia, have had age appropriate vaccinations, been dewormed, is on flea and parasite prevention and has been microchipped.

To adopt one of our pets and rent we ask that you have landlord approval. If you have pets at home already they'll need to be up-to-date on their vaccinations.

We like to make sure you and your pet are a good match! We'll spend time finding out what kind of pet you are looking for and if the pet you picked out will fit your lifestyle.

Dog adoption is $95 to include spay/neuter, all vaccinations except rabies, heartworm testing and microchipping.

Adult cats (6 months and older) are $50 and include spay/neuter, all vaccinations except rabies, feluk testing and microchipping.

KIttens are $75 include spay/neuter, all vaccinations except rabies, feluk testing and microchipping.

Come meet our adoptables now! We are open Monday through Friday from 11:00 am-6 pm and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.. We also hold adoption events once a month at the Ames Petco.
