** SPECIAL NEEDS CAT ** Say hello to the magnificent NESSIE! She is a beautiful female tortoise shell with long hair and a half orange, half black face. She is petite in size as well. Nessie absolutely loves neck scratches and will lay her head down on the ground sideways while you pet her. She loves watching CAT TV (aka, looking out the window), and playing with string toys and springs. She is very curious about mirrors and her own reflection, and has chased her own tail a time or two. She does take a little while to warm up and will need to be given some time to adjust to a new home--she comes out of her shell once she’s familiar with her surroundings. Nessie has tested positive for FIV (the Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), but she is a healthy kitty and will likely have a normal lifespan as an indoor-only cat. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound.
Nessie has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet Nessie in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at PetSmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $70 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1. ID 2410-C0389
