My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sex: Female

Breed: Pit Bull

Estimated Date of Birth : 01/17/2021

Her soulful eyes tell a story we will never know. We can see the pain in those eyes. The desire to have kindness for once in her life. Such an incredibly sweet dog she deserves all the kindness we can give. This breed is so misunderstood and dogs like Rose are a wonderful reminder of how much they feel and how much they hurt when humans fail them. Rose despite her past hardships remains gentle and hopeful that her world will finally give her the peace and goodness her heart needs. Isn’t that what we all want? A good life and a happy existence. It’s time to bring Roses sad pleading eyes the joy they’ve never had.

Rose was a stray picked up by animal control and taken to our county shelter. Like so many pit bull type dogs no one was looking for her and her fate was inevitable. She would spend her last days locked up in a kennel. No one would be interested because there are just so many pitties and she would die. But we saw her eyes. We watched as her tail never wagged and her steps were always uncertain. She was a dog with no hope and a dog who’d never felt love. No one should exit this earth never feeling the marvelous anticipation of hope or the wonderment of love. Rose deserved, for once in her life, to matter. So we gave her the exit she so desperately needed. Rose was finally saved.

This sweet girl is just beginning to understand that her life is changed. We see her quiet hope rekindling and the spark starting to light. She is very mellow but little bursts of personality are starting to emerge. The random play bow, the instant zoomies. Seeing her find joy in just being alive is incredible and we want her to feel this way forever. She’s a Velcro dog who doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and craves human acceptance and attention. Shes good with other dogs although a bit shy and reserved and will be your quiet shadow forever grateful you gave her a chance. Rose is searching for someone special, someone who will offer a warm, loving home to help her heal. She may be quiet now, but with patience and love, Rose’s bright future is waiting to unfold. Would you be the one to give her that chance? If you are interested in adopting a Marley's Mutts please fill out an application at http://marleysmutts.org/adoptionprocess/
