Punkin is a female red with white Chiweenie. She is 3 years old and she weighs about 12 pounds. Punkin is spayed and vaccinated including rabies. Punkin is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Punkin is ready for adoption.

Punkin was returned to rescue 2 years after adoption through no fault of her own. She is in every way a good dog. Punkin is dog and people friendly, and even fine with the cat. She plays with dogs or by herself with toys. Punkin walks well on a leash, is potty trained and crate trained. Punkin would be happy to sleep with her people or in a kennel burrowed up in her fluffy blankie. She is loving but not needy. Punkin enjoys playing outside in nice weather, and will brave the rain to go potty., with a nudge! The only possible issue is that she may get car sick. She has traveled when she did get car sick, and she has traveled and not gotten sick, and we aren’t sure the trick on that. Otherwise we think she’s pretty darn perfect.

We require all potential adopters to submit an application. We only accept applications for a specific dog you are interested in adopting. We do not keep waiting lists or files of general applications for dogs we might get later. The online application can be found at this location:

A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet.

We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.
