Jake von Sienna is a delightful 9 week old German Shepherd puppy.

Beautiful Sienna had some of the most beautiful puppies we have ever seen! Daddy must have been a very large hunk. There were rumors of a beautiful black German Shepherd keeping her company for awhile. At only 9 weeks of age, they are already around 20 pounds. Everyone at the rescue was asking to hold one until they went off to their foster homes. The pups are very social, they love people and love snuggling with their siblings. Another dog in their new homes would be a plus.

Jake von Sienna is in a foster home, offsite, and is NOT at our rescue location in Los Angeles.

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
