My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mary the Puppy

Hello! My name is Mary the puppy, and my siblings are Paula and Peter. If that sounds a little familiar to some of you, there was a band back in the 1960’s that foster mom liked so she named us for them. Needless to say, our foster mom is ancient but gives good cuddles so don’t tell her we said she was old, ok?

Anyhow, we had kind of bad beginnings. We were found in a box by Dollar General in the cold and were very skinny and scared at first. I mean, who leaves a group of adorable puppies to die in a box in the cold?

Fast forward to today. I have doubled my weight in the last 5 days since I was rescued and am getting active and cuddly with my foster mom and siblings. No more shivering in the cold with empty bellies for us!

I am currently doing all of the usual puppy things. Eating, sleeping, playing and poo-ing, and then doing it all over again. We do like to play with the chihuahuas who live at foster mom’s house as they are about our size and are teaching us things like where to potty and drink from the big bowl.

We are scheduled to have surgery on March 3rd, and will be able to leave to our new homes after that date.

If you are interested in a very sweet mix of Boxer and shepherd (maybe), please fill out an application and give us a forever home!!

Additional adoption info

Adoption application required.

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..

If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

Go meet their pets

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.

Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.

We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.

We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
