My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET JAZZ, a soulful, loving, 6-year-old black Pit Bull Terrier in need of a foster or forever home. Jazz has been waiting for awhile and keeps getting overlooked, but he's so deserving of a home! He's friendly & loyal once he has bonded. He can be a bit shy in the beginning, but that wears off quickly. He's playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, athletic, independent and dignified. He will make a good couch potato once he settles in!

Jazz would do best in an adult-only home with people who really want to give a home to a dog in need. He promises he won't disappoint. He will make a good protector, because of his wonderful loyalty. He doesn't demand a lot of attention or affection, and in fact am a bit more independent. He can be protective a bit of his space and food, probably due to his pre-shelter history.

Jazz would also do best as the only dog in the home. His ideal adopter would be a single person or couple who wants a home protector and a faithful companion. He loves the outdoors and loves to run around, and would be happy to go for walks and hikes with you. He weighs about 55 lbs., so is a smaller boy.

If you can foster or adopt Jazz, please email for an application.

More about this rescue

Freedom Ride Rescue Inc. is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization that saves hundreds of dogs and cats annually. We are an all-breed rescue, and do not shy away from tough cases. We believe all animals deserve a chance at a happy life, and we do our best to match people with their new pets. Every time a dog is adopted, it makes room for another needy dog, most often in an overcrowded shelter.

We adopt dogs/cats to people on the West Coast but also to other states as well, as we believe that animal lovers are everywhere! Please consider adopting one of our wonderful dogs or cats.
