Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Blossom! Blossom is a 6 year old female Hound mix who came to us due to issues in the home with her resource guarding food from other dogs. Unfortunately for Blossom, the last incident went too far and she could no longer remain in the home for the safety of their other dog. Blossom is looking for a home WITHOUT OTHER PETS. She is also recommended for no small children out of an abundance of caution. Other than the resource guarding (that has not been shown with adult humans), she is a wonderful, sweet girl. She is a medium sized dog weighing in at 46 lbs. Blossom is housetrained and crate trained per her previous owner. Her adoption fee is WAIVED and she is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm negative. She will be quite the gem for the right home, especially a Hound lover. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov for more information or if interested in adopting. We can further discuss her behavior if serious about adopting! Blossom is also eligible to leave our facility with a rescue group!

Kendall County Animal Control is the county agency responsible for enforcement of the state statutes governing rabies control in domestic companion animals. The State of Illinois requires that all dogs are vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. Compliance with this law is monitored through the issuance of rabies tags for all dogs residing in the county. All dogs are required to wear their rabies tags when off of the owner's property. If a pet is lost, rabies tags also provide an excellent means of identifying your pet.
Kendall County Animal Control also enforces the county's ordinance that prohibits dogs from running at large in unincorporated residential subdivisions, investigates reports of animal bites, and will pick up contained stray dogs in unincorporated Kendall County during operating hours. Stray and owner released cats and dogs may also be brought to the facility during business hours. Cats and dogs are available for adoption at the facility.
