Kato was brought in by a community member.

Why Kato might be the one for you:
Kato, a handsome dog with a goofy personality that's sure to make you smile. This playful, energetic guy is looking for an active companion to join him on adventures. Kato is a smart guy who knows that the shelter environment is not for him. It has too many other dogs, it is noisy and he says it stresses him out. He's house-trained and responds well to positive reinforcement training which we can show you how it works. Outside the shelter environment, he hops in the car and is ready to go adventuring, hoping it will involved a walk, errands and a pupcup after. Folks who have taken him for a dog day out have noted that he likes to go shopping and is a good aisle walker. He gently took the toy that was offered to him at a pet store and proudly took it to the cashier for scanning before he more proudly walked out of the store with it. With the right mix of exercise, training, and affection, Kato will thrive as a loyal and loving companion who wants to go where you go. Want a dog who will make your shopping errands fun and then come home to settle down next to you for pets and cuddles? If so, Kato might be your guy.

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized.
