We would like to introduce you to the most amazing little lovebug, Snacks! She came to us by someone that thought she was hit by a car, but turned out she had been badly attacked by a larger dog with severe wounds to her legs. She's completely healed now and ready to find her furever home! She is heartworm positive unfortunately. She is starting treatment, so she will need to be able to stay calm for the month or so. She's already more on the calm side so it won't be too hard though.
She's AMAZING with kids and the little human foster brother in the home is her BFF. In her furever home, she would love to have a kiddo to call her own to grow up with. She is all about her people and will make the most loyal friend to everyone in the family.
Given her past, she was hesitant with the other resident dogs here, but with time realized they won't hurt her. We just like to say she has a little bit of short man syndrome in her. ;) In her new home, a proper, slow introduction to the other dog(s) is needed so she can feel comfortable. A more submissive dog that won't be all up in her bubble would be best, or she would love to have all the attention to herself and be your one and only pupper too.
Snacks is completely crate trained and if taken out regularly, does well with house training. She will fuss for a little bit when you leave her, but settles down after a few mins. Car rides and going places is her favorite! She's your true passenger princess and just wants to be wherever you are.

We will contact you via email with approvals and/or requests should we need additional information. When we are able to reopen for adoptions, it will be by appointment only for pre-approved adopters with good vet references.
We will continue to do 3rd and 4th vaccinations for any previously adopted puppies from 10am-12pm on Saturdays at the adoption center.

boarding, vaccinations, heartworm and flea prevention, and any other medicines or medical
procedures needed);
- Willing to allow us to do a home visit prior to adoption; and
- Prepared to give us your veterinarian’s contact information if you currently own a dog
or have owned a dog in the past

K-9 Angels Rescue is an all-volunteer, all-breed canine rescue organization established in February 2012.
We are a rescue group for shelter dogs who run out of time. In other words, we are not a shelter, have no permanent facilities, and are not equipped to take in dogs from the public. We select dogs from the greater Houston "kill" animal control facilities who would not have made it out alive. (Don't worry! If you need help rehoming a dog, there are other non-profit groups who can assist you.)
No one involved in K-9 Angels receives ANY compensation. Our volunteers are compassionate animal welfare advocates who contribute their time, skills, and finances to shelter homeless dogs in Houston. To save the lives of the abandoned, abused, and stray dogs who end up in Houston's animal control facilities, K-9 Angels relies completely on adoption fees, donations, and our amazing volunteers.
K-9 Angels covers ALL costs for dogs currently in the program. During intake, every dog gets a microchip and is spayed or neutered (if old enough for the procedure). If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. We fund all medical care necessary, even if we have to raise extra Helping Paw funds for special cases! From the time they enter the program to the time they graduate, K-9 Angels dogs are kept up-to-date on all vaccines (DHPP, bordetella, rabies) as well as heartworm and flea prevention.
We commit to K-9 Angels dogs until they are adopted.
Our volunteer foster homes patiently provide safety, love, and integration into a household environment - a key to successful adoptions. The biographies, pictures, and even videos from foster homes are important "pup-licilty" for our dogs! We are always in need of additional foster homes.
Our goal is a "fur-ever" home! We take every precaution not to contribute to the dog overpopulation problem here in Houston. Applications are processed according to our adoption policies to insure the best situation for our dogs and the families who adopt them.
