Canelo ("Cinnamon" in Spanish) is a sweet, middle-aged gentleman! Maybe they should have named him Azucar (Sugar) instead?!

He'll be 9 years young in September. He is house trained and stays off the furniture. His human (little) sister has big health concerns which has led to this gut-wrenching decision by his current family.

What does Canelo love? A walk around the block, a trip to the river, food (yes, he needs to shed a few pounds) and people. His energy level is described as "medium," so if you love labs but don't have the bandwidth for younger, exhuberant energy, Canelo might be a good candidate for you!

He barks briefly when the doorbell rings, but this smart boy quickly recognizes cars of frequent visitors, so he is definitely not a very vocal boy. He is GREAT with kids and strangers.
