My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Olive is a big, handsome house panther with a personality as bold as his name! He first joined us as a kitten in January 2022, along with his three siblings. After some early adventures in foster care, he and his sister, Goldie, were adopted together into a loving home in April 2022. Unfortunately, life had other plans, and they returned to us just before Thanksgiving 2024.

Though he was understandably a bit rattled by the transition, Olive quickly reminded us of his curious and affectionate nature. He loves following the Volunteers around, supervising their work, and making sure he’s in the know about everything happening around him. He’s also got the cutest little meow and always uses it to greet his favorite people when they arrive.

Olive is a cat who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to communicate it. Some cats meow, some chirp—Olive does both but he also occasionally hisses. It’s just his way of saying, 'Hey, not right now!' and he’s always quick to move on once he’s made his point. He’s a playful, independent cat who enjoys his space but also appreciates attention.

Olive a big guy with a heart to match (and maybe a couple of extra pounds he’s working on). If you’re looking for a fun and confident cat who will keep you entertained and be your loyal sidekick, Olive is your guy! And if you’re open to a dynamic duo, his sister Goldie would love to come along too.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our adoption fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

Of course, if you would like to make a larger donation to help cover our care for the homeless cats, we would be delighted. All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

Why Choose Peter Zippi?

At Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, we're not just about adoptions; we're about creating lifelong connections between our feline friends and loving families. Our Adoption Counselors are dedicated to making your adoption experience joyful and memorable.

*We often offer hard-to-place and special needs cats.*

At Peter Zippi, we believe that kittens under 5 months of age thrive best with a feline companion. To ensure their happiness and healthy development, we adopt kittens in pairs or to homes with an age-appropriate resident cat. Growing up with another cat helps kittens learn social skills, provides essential companionship, and encourages active play. We appreciate your understanding and support in giving our kittens the best start in life!

Thank you for considering adopting from Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, where every cat's journey to a forever home begins with support from the community.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
