Shadow is a sweet, snuggly, gentle, submissive sweetheart. <3 She loves snuggling, playing, and belly rubs and treats! She is a quick learner, and good with other dogs, new people, and little kids. She is overall well behaved for a young, intelligent dog - she does well in the crate, picks up training quickly, responds well to a disappointed correction tone, and walks pretty well on leash.
Shadow was one of a couple dogs taken in from a neglectful situation with too many dogs, covered in fleas, riddled with worms, and with her fur matted to herself with some mystery nastiness. She's been fully dewormed and treated, and is now fully vetted aside from her spay and rabies vaccine, which will be scheduled at the end of February/start of March most likely.
Shortly after taking her in, a similarly aged dog with the same blue eyes was found in an area near where Shadow came from, leading us to suspect the girls may have both come from the same place along with other bright blue eyed dogs.... once the girls (Shadow and Cheyenne) were introduced, it seemed that they did in fact know each other, and Cheyenne got much more confident and less shy with Shadow around.
Both girls are currently looking for a(n) amazing foster(s) or foster-to-adopt while they wait to finish their vetting to be fully adoption ready! While we would LOVE for the girls to find a home together (and would discount the combined adoption fees); we also realize this is unfortunately not always possible in the current dog world, and would be willing to adopt the girls separately, as long as there was another dog in the adoptive home for Shadow (or Cheyenne) to befriend. :)
Please message us with any questions!

Please read further to learn about our adoption process; and see footnote for information regarding scheduling meet and greets etc, as well as longer distance adoptions.
We encourage applicants to let us know specifics they're looking for in a dog (especially if open to considering multiple adoption candidates) and what their life and energy levels are like. From there, we can coordinate a meet and greet - depending on the dog and the adoptive situation, this can range from one meet and greet, to as many more as needed (such as with shy dogs, or dogs entering households where proper introduction is needed to existing doggy housemates). After a meet and greet, we do a home visit, where we ensure there are no dangers such as open areas in fencing, toxic plants, etc. If safety concerns are found, we discuss solutions with the family and a time-frame, and plan for a follow-up visit, hopefully ending in adoption. If there are no concerns (or any safety concerns are fixed), we then discuss the "Welcome Home Day" with family - which, again, depending on case by case basis, could be same day if everything is great and adopters' schedules permit, or scheduled for a later date.
*****
We coordinate adoption throughout Washington, and at times Oregon and California. We can generally arrange meet and greets locally to us (Ferry County) the same week of inquiry and welcome adoption applicants from anywhere (including applicants from further areas coming to us for meet and greets). We are also able and happy to coordinate meet-and-greets, home checks, and adoptions once or twice a month to areas further than Ferry County - please check with us for more information if this might apply.
Thank you for your interest in saving a life!
