My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cheyenne is a beautiful, elegant, soft, and mildly shy little girl who was dumped in the wilderness to fend for herself, and is suspected to be related to Shadow, an Australian Shepherd/Husky mix taken in from a neglectful situation.

Cheyenne is estimated to be about a year old. She is a little shy when meeting new people, but once she gets comfortable, she has been great with the adults, children, and other dogs she's met.

Cheyenne is still in the process of completing her veterinary (she needs her spay and rabies still), and will be fully adoptable when that is completed. In the meantime, we would love to find a foster or foster-to-adopt who can help build her confidence and exposure prior to spay!

She and her sister love each other dearly, so we'd love to find the girls a home together, but they also enjoy the company of other dogs and Cheyenne enjoys having a doggy friend for confidence, so if Cheyenne & Shadow can't be placed together, the ideal home would have another doggy friend for Cheyenne to love, play with, and draw more confidence from!

Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in adopting!

Please read further to learn about our adoption process; and see footnote for information regarding scheduling meet and greets etc, as well as longer distance adoptions.

We encourage applicants to let us know specifics they're looking for in a dog (especially if open to considering multiple adoption candidates) and what their life and energy levels are like. From there, we can coordinate a meet and greet - depending on the dog and the adoptive situation, this can range from one meet and greet, to as many more as needed (such as with shy dogs, or dogs entering households where proper introduction is needed to existing doggy housemates). After a meet and greet, we do a home visit, where we ensure there are no dangers such as open areas in fencing, toxic plants, etc. If safety concerns are found, we discuss solutions with the family and a time-frame, and plan for a follow-up visit, hopefully ending in adoption. If there are no concerns (or any safety concerns are fixed), we then discuss the "Welcome Home Day" with family - which, again, depending on case by case basis, could be same day if everything is great and adopters' schedules permit, or scheduled for a later date.

*****
We coordinate adoption throughout Washington, and at times Oregon and California. We can generally arrange meet and greets locally to us (Ferry County) the same week of inquiry and welcome adoption applicants from anywhere (including applicants from further areas coming to us for meet and greets). We are also able and happy to coordinate meet-and-greets, home checks, and adoptions once or twice a month to areas further than Ferry County - please check with us for more information if this might apply.

Thank you for your interest in saving a life!
