This little dynamo is Twiggy!

Twiggy is approximately 10-months-old and a female Heinz 57 mutt. If we must label what is in the special sauce, I’d say she’s a Chihuahua / Lab mix. Proof that dynamite comes in small packages.

She currently weighs 20 lbs and should not get much bigger. Her estimated adult weight is 25 lbs. So if you are looking for small dog but not too small Twiggy is your gal.

This girl loves everyone she meets. She's a social butterfly you know the type of dog who doesn't know a stranger.

Twiggy is very playful. She likes to take all her toys outside to play. This girl has lots of energy. She will gladly play with you, by herself or with her canine friends. Twiggy's foster mommy is an avid runner and she has taken Twiggy running with her on several occasions (longest run so far was 2 miles).

She’s very toy and treat motivated. She loves to play fetch and chase her canine friends around in the yard. She still does some play nipping which we are working on but no toddlers because of this.

It is preferred she have another playful dog in the home but with the right family who is active and includes her in activities she would do very well.

She really loves spending time outside playing in the yard especially on nice days. A secure fenced yard is required.

Twiggy is crate, leash & potty trained. She currently sleeps in a crate at night. Her temp foster mommy for Spring Break is letting her sleep in her bed. If you allow this she will snuggle up to you & sleep all night long.

Twiggy is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, current on HW preventative and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $225.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please go to https://foreveryoursokc.org/adoption-application/ and fill out an application! Then email ForeverYoursOKC@gmail.com to confirm

2.
Approve Application

This may take a couple days if completed online or during the event if completed in person.

3.
Interview

A rescue member will give you a call to give more info about the dog and make sure it will be a good fit. If so, then will plan a meeting.

4.
Meet the Pet

Then you get to meet the dog and have the dog meet all family members (including the furry ones) to see if you think the dog is a good fit.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Once all of the above is completed and you are approved. You will sign an adoption contract and pay a $225 adoption fee.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Every dog that is rescued by Forever Yours is checked by a veterinarian, vaccinated, spay/neutered, dewormed, heartworm/ehrlichia tested and treated if needed, and microchipped. We also treat any other illnesses or issues that the dog may have on intake.

We require an adoption application (FYDRadopt.com), a house check, and our adoption fee is $225.00.

If available, you will get an opportunity to talk to your chosen pet's foster family when you meet your potential new family member. This will enable you to ask any questions and learn all about your pet.

Forever Yours Dog Rescue does not have a facility, all of our wonderful rescues are in foster homes with families that take care of them and love them until their forever homes come along.

Forever Yours Dog Rescue was founded on November 8th, 2011, with the mission of helping smaller animal shelters located throughout Oklahoma.

We are an Oklahoma City based all-breed 501(c) dog rescue, caring for the unwanted, abandoned, and abused dogs of Oklahoma. We rescue from local shelters and shelters throughout Oklahoma. We do take owner surrender's under certain situations.

We advocate spay/neuter and offer assistance in finding a low-cost option for those that qualify.

We promote adoption as an alternative to buying your pet.
We provide pet ownership education through materials, counceling, and on-site workshops, at no cost to the public, with an emphasis on preventative care.

We are all volunteer based, with no paid employees.
