June Bug was rescued from a horrible neglect and abuse situation with her companion Benny. When she was saved by Good Samaritans, June Bug was too weak to even lift her head, and she had pressure sores on her cheeks, hips, shoulders and knees where bones protruded through her skin as she lay too weak to even change her position. She weighed only 20 lbs. June Bug and Benny were rushed to a veterinary clinic where they began their recovery. From the moment she arrived, June Bug became a clinic favorite! As weak as she was, she was wagging her tail and greeting everyone with her crooked little smile. The clinic staff outfitted her with to keep her warm and she loved all the attention. After two weeks of care at the clinic, June Bug was strong enough to move to her foster home (with Benny). Now June Bug weighs 45 lbs and has blossomed into a beautiful girl who loves life!! Her coat is shiny and smooth, her sores have healed and the fur has grown back. She is healthy, active and playful. June Bug loves to run in the yard with a tennis ball in her mouth. She loves to go on car ride and to sit in her foster mom's office to supervise the work. June Bug is house trained and crate trained. Junie has learned to sit and shake. She knows the words outside, inside, treats, dinner, 'go to work' and ride. She is smart and eager to learn and to please. She loves toys and chew bones. June Bug walks very well on leash and has shown no aggression towards other dogs that she passes on her walks. In the evening she becomes a couch potato and enjoys snuggles on a cozy blanket. June Bug has shown no resource guarding with humans, but because of her past she will always need to be fed separately from other dogs. June Bug is very playful with Benny, but introductions to other dogs will need to be slow (as is always recommended). June Bug is not cat tested. June Bug is happy to greet any visitors to the house with tail wags and smiles. Her underbite and crooked smile are the cutest! June Bug would love a family with a fenced yard so she can run freely and bask in the sun. She is a lovely and loving gal who will make your heart smile!
June Bug is spayed and up to date on her shots.
