My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gus is the sweetest dog ever. He is a lover through and through, and all he wants is to be cuddled and held by his people. Gus, however, has a severe case of Separation Anxiety. We rescued Gus from a hoarding home in Kentucky in 2023. We fell in love at first sight. He melted into us and seized every opportunity to snuggle. He trusted us instantly. But it became clear early on that he couldn't be alone without causing extreme distress and discomfort. We spent over a year devoting our time and energy to getting Gus comfortable with alone time. With the help of meds and a regimented training plan, Gus got up to 4 hours alone in March 2024. Shortly after, he hit a big regression. Over the last year, through a lot of soul searching, we've come to the decision that Gus needs to find a home with a person or family who can devote more time and energy to helping him be comfortable and happy, or a someone looking for a reliable, loving home companion in sweet Gus. outside of the big loud city
