9-year-old Izzie needs a loving home by the end of February when her family is moving to Germany.
Izzie is a sweet, laid-back girl who loves spending time with her people. She enjoys taking walks, lounging around the house, and having a nap in a sunny spot. Though her hiking days are mostly behind her, she still loves going for shorter walks and enjoys outdoor adventures at a slower pace. She’s extremely obedient, intelligent, and affectionate, always happy to be in the mix of family activities.
Like many senior dogs, Izzie has arthritis, but is otherwise in good health. She is house-trained and is very relaxed when left home alone.
Izzie's family shared the following information about her temperament and behavior:
Children:
We have a 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. At first, Izzie was anxious around our children, but we’ve carefully monitored her and taught the kids boundaries. Izzie is now very good at letting them know when they’re too close and is comfortable around them.
Dogs:
Izzie does not get along well with other dogs due to past experiences. She’s protective of her space and may snap if a dog tries to invade it. She would do best as the only dog in the home.
Cats/Small Animals:
Initially, Izzie chased our cat, but over time, they coexisted peacefully. Sadly, our cat passed away, and Izzie has been adjusting to life as a solo pet.
Food/Resource Guarding:
Izzie is very calm when people take her food, treats, or toys. She is only protective if another dog is nearby.
Why She’s Special:
Izzie is a calm and loving companion who deserves a quiet, comfortable home where she can enjoy her golden years. She’s low-maintenance and incredibly loyal, and though she has some limitations due to her arthritis, she’s still a joy to be around.
If you are interested in providing Izzie with a loving home, please contact Richard by calling or texting 858-333-9212.
