My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Important adoption info can be found here in the last paragraph of this pet's profile or by visiting this direct link:  http://dfwpuppatrol.com/info/adoption

This lady is just as sweet as she is beautiful and she is looking for a new furever home.  Meet Dixie Diamond, a Husky/German Shepherd mix pup, who is about 3-1/2 yrs old and weighs approximately 68 lbs.  Her foster home does have another dog and a cat she gets along with and she loves every person she meets!  This gal is potty trained and loves to cuddle!

Dixie Diamond joined our rescue organization after being hit by a car; her owner was going to shoot her if nobody offered to help.  She has now had 3 surgical procedures done to her hip and knee accompanied by concurrent appropriate durations of recovery and therapy.  She has been such a good sport about it all.  Her last radiograph review showed muscle mass continues to improve, so great news!  She does have expected osteoarthritis in her hip that will need to be proactively managed with regular exercise and appropriate supplements so she can continue to run and play like other pups!  This girl is now looking for a loving dedicated home, so if you are an active individual or an active family looking for a very special addition, Dixie Diamond may be just the girl you’re looking for!

If you are interested in adding this pup to your family, please click here (or copy and paste http://dfwpuppatrol.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption into your browser) to view our adoption info and where you will find the link to fill out our online Pre-Adoption Application.  Any questions can be directed to us at info@dfwpuppatrol.com.  All of our adoptable pups have a minimum requested adoption fee of $250 (pups 6 months and older) or $350 (pups under 6 months old), regardless of our expenses, and it includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm test for pups 6 months and older, heartworm treatment if tested positive, deworming and/or fecal test, parasite treatment if tested positive, microchipping, any immediate known health issues, and pups 3 months and older are kept current on monthly heartworm prevention.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Applications are screened and references checked for both veterinarian and renters. Phone interview is conducted and if a potential match we will arrange a playdate. To move forward with a potential placement we require a home visit and introduce existing pets to the new pet. If successful a 72-hour home trial is mandatory. To give the applicant possession of the pet the applicant must fill out the Adoption Contract and pay the adoption fee. The contract and adoption fee is held for the 72-hour trial period. If placement is desired at the end of the trial period the organization signs and executes the contract. A copy of the contract along with medical records will then be forwarded to the adopter. 1 week, 1 month, 3 month, and 6 month follow-ups are conducted.

We also offer assistance to families needing to rehome their pets. All of our adoptable pets are current on vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tested, spay/neutered, and kept current on heartworm prevention.
