Meet Java and Misa: The Adorable Bonded Brothers Seeking Their Forever Home!

Java: “Misa, it looks like we have a potential adopter over there. Act cool.”

*Misa smiles goofily*

Java: “Seriously dude, act cool.”

Java: “Well hello! Who might you be? Can I be as bold as to say our future adopter? Check and mate. ;) Let me introduce myself: I’m Java, and this is my brother, Misa. Aren’t we a regal pair? I sport this long, glorious black fur, while Misa has a sleek and handsome short grey coat. We both love our grooming sessions—after all, a good brush keeps our fur silky and fabulous!

We’re around 4.5 years old and are the textbook definition of sweet, friendly, even-keeled, and loving. Sadly, our journey hasn’t been easy. We previously lived in a toxic home environment that put us in danger. Fortunately, a friend of our previous owner reached out for immediate help. We were even kicked outside to live in the nearby woods! Despite the trauma and abuse we faced, we’ve shown remarkable resilience and are thriving in foster care.

However, as much as we adore our foster family, we are ready to find our own special people who will cherish us like we deserve. After all, we are two cool cats who are sure to make your life brighter!

Misa: *headbutts happily* “I’m the goofy one who adores giving headbutts! I’m fantastic at using scratching posts and toys to keep myself entertained, and I love flopping over on my side for a good play session.”

Java: “And I’m all about the cuddles! I love to jump on laps and bask in the affection. I do have a slight head tilt due to vestibular (balance) issues, but don’t worry—this doesn’t affect my health or mobility at all! Nothing can stop this silly boy from having a good time!”

Both of us thoroughly enjoy watching the world go by from a nice window perch, and we would love a home that offers us that view. We can get a little overwhelmed in new surroundings, so we need a patient adopter who will allow us the time to adjust. We’re confident we’d do well with other calm cats and gentle dogs, with the right introductions.

Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
