My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is King Julian, I am a 2 year old, neutered male, short-haired cat. I am a handsome kitty with the biggest, most stunning blue eyes that will steal your heart in an instant. My unique coat makes me stand out even more—I’m truly one of a kind! I was relinquished to MaxFund in February 2025 through no fault of my own, and now I’m searching for my purr-fect forever home.

I was a bit shy when I first arrived at MaxFund, but now that I’ve been meeting lots of visitors, I’ve really come out of my shell! You may still find me tucked away in a cozy hiding spot, but if you take the time to look, you’ll see that I have nothing but love to give. I adore pets and absolutely love people—once I know you, I’ll melt under your gentle touch.

I do have some special medical needs—I recently had a severe urethral obstruction and am still at high risk for another obstruction. To be happy and healthy I need to stay on my prescription diet. I am also on hydracare to keep me hydrated. I will need a cat water fountain to to encourage me to drink more water so I don`t have another issue.

Since stress can make my condition worse, I need a calm, stress-free home where I can relax and feel safe. I am not a fan of other cats, but I would be okay living with a well-mannered dog who respects my space.

Due to my special needs, I am available as Short-Term Foster with intent to adopt. This means you can take me home, help me settle in, and make sure we’re the perfect fit before making it official! Please reach out to fostercats@maxfund.org if you want more information about me!

If you’re looking for a sweet, unique, and loving companion, I just might be the kitty for you! Come visit me—I’d love to meet you!

More about this shelter

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
