My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet and timid at first, but then very snuggly! Nelson is a delightful companion with two simple yet profound joys in life: food and attention. Each morning, with eager meows, he ensures that everyone knows it's breakfast time. Once his belly is full, Nelson turns his focus to the next best thing: attention. He thrives on the warmth of human interaction, savoring every pet and snuggle. His affectionate nature will make him a beloved presence in any household. He gets along well with other cats and knows how to mind his own business.

Nelson is FIV+, but don't let that stop you from adopting this amazing boy! While cats diagnosed with FIV can have slightly weaker immune systems, many cats do not show any symptoms during their lifetimes and can live normal lives. FIV is not considered contagious and can only be spread through deep flesh bites, making it possible for non-FIV cats to live safely alongside FIV cats as long as no intense fighting occurs.

All cats and kittens come spayed and neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fees are $50.00 for adult cats and $75.00 for kittens under 6 months old at the time of adoption. Our adoptions are done by approved applications, so you must apply and be approved before being able to meet any of our cats or kittens.

To be approved, you can apply in person or online at:
https://www.storycountyiowa.gov/1486/Adoption-Application
Applications can take a few business days to be approved and you will be emailed with communications regarding your application.
