Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gloria is a beautiful 2-year-old Pomsky that endured a horrific start in life in a hoarding house with 140 other dogs. She is learning that life can be good and is searching for a special home with a family that is willing to give her time to become comfortable and one who will give her lots of love. Gloria is learning how to play with toys and chewing on Nyla bones is big fun. Her potty skills are coming along nicely. She sleeps quietly in a crate at night. Gloria is trying so hard to be brave and is slowly making progress, but she does have a way to go as most everything is new and scary to her. She is going to need someone who understands her fears and is willing to work with her so that her gentle soul can shine and she can be the dog she was meant to be. We really don’t know all the details of her past, but clearly people were not kind to her. Our hearts break for her as Gloria is fearful of being approached and will want to run to hide. Once she knows you, pets and scratches are not as scary and you can tell she really wants to be a lap dog, but can’t quite figure it out. Gloria is very scared of the leash. We are working on this, but at this time if going someplace new, such as to the vet, she will need to be carried and she does weigh 28 pounds. Because of her fear of the leash she will need a need a home with a secure fenced yard so she can run around (which she highly enjoys) and do her “business” while safely secured. Gloria will also need to be crated or secured in a doggy seat belt while riding in a car. We truly think once Gloria gets past her fears, and we do think she will, she is going to be just fabulous. She just needs someone to give her that chance. Gloria is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative and on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, and microchipped. Gloria’s adoption fee is $350.00. Please go to our website aaprescue.org to learn about our adoption process
