Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dahlia! Dahlia arrived at the shelter as a stray and was not reclaimed by an owner. We think she is about 3 years old and is a Pit (mix?) female. Dahlia has proven to be a lovely girl with humans here at the shelter, but needs a home without other animals. She keeps her kennel nice and clean here so we believe she is housetrained. She also does not shred toys or blankets. Dahlia is pretty much the cutest thing we have ever seen, so enjoy the photos of her having a blast in our outdoor yards and enjoying the weather today. Her adoption fee is $150 and she will be spayed before leaving the shelter, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm negative. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov or stop by the shelter during our open business hours to meet her!

Kendall County Animal Control is the county agency responsible for enforcement of the state statutes governing rabies control in domestic companion animals. The State of Illinois requires that all dogs are vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. Compliance with this law is monitored through the issuance of rabies tags for all dogs residing in the county. All dogs are required to wear their rabies tags when off of the owner's property. If a pet is lost, rabies tags also provide an excellent means of identifying your pet.
Kendall County Animal Control also enforces the county's ordinance that prohibits dogs from running at large in unincorporated residential subdivisions, investigates reports of animal bites, and will pick up contained stray dogs in unincorporated Kendall County during operating hours. Stray and owner released cats and dogs may also be brought to the facility during business hours. Cats and dogs are available for adoption at the facility.
