SUNNY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Sunny Best Guess for Breed: Australian cattle dog - red heeler type mix
Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of February 2025 SEX: Male
Estimated Weight: 35 lbs as of 1/26/25; he's still growing!
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home!
Follow Sunny on Instagram at: http://instagram.com/noma.luckydogs.
Special Adoption Considerations: When Sunny arrived from the shelter, he was pretty reserved in the hustle and bustle of city life. He has been making great strides in boarding and in his current foster home! We think Sunny would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure Sunny has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggy-daycare with other dogs to build confidence.
Sunny is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own this cutie landed in the shelter. He's at the tail end of puppyhood and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. He's eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up - he's got all that awesome young-dog energy to burn. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together.
Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved. In exchange he promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's storing up, and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Sunny the one you see by your side?
What My Foster Says About Me: Sunny has been great! He's adjusting well and is very curious and interested in everything. He loves playing with toys and had a blast with some puzzle and chew toys. I have been taking him for walks and he enjoys sniffing everything. He also enjoys going to the dog park and warmed up to the other dogs right away. He loves other people and gets very wiggly when he sees the people he knows.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
