Hounds and Oreos don't mix much...but in the case of Skipper they seem to have collided. Skipper is an adult male hound mix, weighing a very lean 45 lbs with the need for some extra
meals in his future. This lovely guy is looking for his Gilligan, Mary Ann, Ginger, Professor or all of the above in his furever family. Skipper is a sweet and fun guy, active and social as most hounds are, and ready to move on to
some cushy living...no 3 hour tours needed to make this guy happy! Skipper does well in his crate and has a medium energy level that will fit into most families with ease. A combo this good cannot be passed up...come meet him ASAP on the island known as Saving Grace!
**Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "He’s a real sweetheart with a high energy level. He loves being around people and was super happy the whole time".
*Weekend Host feedback: " I loved having Skipper! He is house and crate trained (doesn't love the crate but will go in). He is very affectionate, loves people and loves just hanging out outside watching squirrels and birds. He does want to say hi to the dogs that pass but he is easily redirected. He made instant friends with the hound dog next store. He allowed the other dog to take his bone with no argument. He loves to cuddle on the couch and loves rubs just about anywhere".
* "We have small children, and he never got rough or tried to play with their toys. He is house broken and knows basic commands, did not go into the trash or beg for food, and is SO gentle. He played well with other dogs and was not even slightly aggressive or possessive with toys, treats or food. We took him to the park, and he was patient with all people coming to pet him".

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.
If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org
Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
