My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Bruce was brought in by his previous owner on December 8, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Bruce! This sweet and playful dog is ready to find his new home. His foster says he loves cuddling and thinks of himself as a lapdog! He is a huge fan of belly rubs, head scratches, being brushed and snuggling up on your feet. Bruce already has excellent manners, is very food motivated and loves to learn new tricks. He is a medium-energy dog who enjoys leisurely walks, but is happy to curl up for a nap afterward. He loves toys and is always ready to battle in tug of war or play a game of fetch. Bruce has a positive history living with cats, making him a great fit for feline friends. He has shown some resource guarding behaviors around other dogs, so we recommend he go to a home where he can be the only pup. If you're looking for a friendly, affectionate and intelligent dog who will bring joy to your home, fill out the interest form for Bruce today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
