My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you an introvert? Love reading books or watching a movie with a cuddle buddy on your lap? If so, this is your guy! Sassafras Swirl is an introvert too. He arrived at my door a little over a year ago. He was emaciated and wasn't going to make it. I started feeding him, fell in love with him, and brought him inside. He was clearly a former housecat.

Sassafras had a PU (perineal urethrostomy) surgery in December. That, along with a prescription diet and being separated from my other cats, seems to have fully resolved his FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease) issues. I have 3 cats and he is bullied by one of them. I've "tried it all" and there is no resolving it. For his health, I keep him separated, but it breaks my heart.

He would love a home of his own with no other pets or kids. He has made huge strides in the past year! He's a shy, low energy guy, with anxiety who would love a pet parent who can relate, and give him time and space to come out of his shell even more.
