My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Winter! It’s so nice to meet you. I'm the sweetest and most gentle pup who's looking for a furever home! I was rescued by Beagle Freedom Project after spending months living in California's desert area as a stray. It was so hard to keep going out there on my own-- I felt so scared and alone but, luckily, I'm a true survivor! Now that I'm safe at BFP's adoption center, Freedom Fields, I'm starting to thrive! I love getting gentle pets, going on walks, and playing with other dogs. I love people and I absolutely adore every dog that I meet! I've discovered such a silly, fun, and playful side of myself, too! I'm a loving girl who will be the best and most loyal friend ever to my adopter. I'm still working on gaining confidence, but I know that I'll blossom in a patient and caring home. Could you give me the forever home I'm dreaming of?

My location: NOWATA, OK

My ideal home: a household with another friendly dog.

*Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!*

*Beagle Freedom Project facilitates out-of-state adoptions, provided the adopter is able to travel to the animal's current location for pickup.*

Additional adoption info

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Standardly, Beagle Freedom Project does not facilitate animal meet and greets. Instead, we begin all BFP adoptions with a trial-period; this is called ‘fostering-to-adopt’. At BFP, we believe that the best way for an adopter to be certain that an animal is their perfect match is by giving them an opportunity to truly know each other before finalizing an adoption. As BFP animals come from such traumatic pasts, they can often be shy upon a first meeting. Foster-to-adopt trials allow these special animals an opportunity to decompress and show their authentic personality before an official adoption decision is made.
