Mateo came to us as a stray on a cold winter's day. He had wandered up to an older gentleman's home begging to come in, but the best this man could do was allow him into his porch. This got Mateo out of the elements, but it was clear he needed more. So, of course we said, "Welcome, Mateo!"

This boy is the most relaxed, chill, happy-go-lucky cat you'll ever meet. On the day we released him into the mix with the other cats in his room, he just went about exploring and doing his thing. Some of the other cats in the room gave him a little hiss or a swat and Mateo just turned and walked away - good boy, Mateo! He really is the sweetest cat you'll ever meet.

Things have settled down with his roommates and he's getting along marvelously with everyone. When you come to meet him, you'll likely find him lounging on a chair, sprawled out with no cares in the world. He will play if you engage with him. He's just one chill dude!

He's been good around children of various ages. Dogs are an unknown, but given his demeaner around everything else, we're going to go out on a limb and say he'll be fine with dogs, too.

Mateo's recently been neutered so those big cheeks haven't had enough time to deflate yet, but they will. He'll still be one handsome hunk, even without those cheekers! Come meet him soon if you're interested as we're sure he won't be here long.
