My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beckett is a super handsome 4 year old, 80ish lb Golden Retriever looking for his new forever family. We are told "Unfortunately, Beckett and our other male dog don’t get along. Their fights have been escalating and we’ve realized we are going to have to separate them for everyone’s wellbeing. He’s very obedient- went to training when he was younger and is an incredibly smart dog. Only issue we have is sadly, he has aggression towards his brother (who is a male Doberman) and resource guards his toys and food with him. We have a female lab who he adores! (Not sure if he dislikes all male dogs or it’s just certain dogs in general) We only use the crate when we need to separate him from his brother. He’s allowed to stay out in house and roam freely when we aren’t home. Beckett is truly the most wonderful and loyal dog and will be a fabulous only dog for someone!"

We are still learning about Beckett, but if you would like to meet him, please fill out an application at GRRAND.org

More about this rescue

Early in 1994, members of the Greater Louisville Golden Retriever Club began to see the need for an organization to rehabilitate and find homes for displaced and abused Golden Retrievers. A number of folks in this club began organizing an ad hoc rescue group. As the number of rescues increased over a period of months, this “wet behind the ears” group came up with a name and in 1996, incorporated the organization now known as Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). The rest, as they say, is history!
