Meet Eevie and Teddy, who are both 4 year old Shih Tzu/Pomeranian mixes. They arrived into rescue on January 26th, so their foster mom is still discovering traits, behaviors and characteristics about them. One thing is known for sure, both dogs are VERY bonded together and are always looking for one another. Because they are so attached to each other, they must be adopted together. Both Eevie and Teddy are very affectionate and playful, but also can be timid and shy in new situations. For the most part they are house trained as long as they are taken outside on a frequent, regular schedule. But there is still some work to be done and their new family must continue to help them become fully and reliably housetrained. Their previous family had young children and a new baby, and did not have time to devote to their care and training. But their foster mom has noticed they are both very quick learners and have already picked up some new words and commands in their new environment.

Given what is currently known about Eevie and Teddy, the requirements for adoption are outlined below. However, as more becomes known about them, there may be revisions or additional information added to these requirements.

1. An adults only home where someone is home much of the day. A family with children over the age of ten will be considered depending on the children’s experience interacting with small dogs.

2. A home that has a fenced back yard so they can play together and make it a bit easier for them to continue with their housetraining. They must always be supervised even in a securely fenced yard.

3. A family who is patient and understanding, and will work on housetraining and basic training to enable Eevie and Teddy to feel more confident and secure in their new home. The family must be able to devote adequate time to two dogs.

4. Live within 25 miles of Edina, MN.

5. All adopters are strongly encouraged to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held each year in September.

Eevie is spayed and Teddy has been neutered. They are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventive. The adoption fee both is $640.00 plus $54.56 for a total of $695.56. This is a discounted price for adopting a pair.
