My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Roxi arrived:
Roxi was brought in by their previous owner.

At SDHS:
Roxi has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for her new home!

Why Roxi might be the one for you:
Lovely Roxi lived with one family her entire life before they moved out of the country and were forced to surrender her. She is in a foster home where she is thriving and being very spoiled.. She loves to go on walks and car rides. It is hard to know which she likes more. She goes zen on car rides as she calmly settles in for the ride. She also loves water. A car ride to the beach and a beach walk is probably her all time favorite thing to do. She is a sun bather and spends a lot of time in the backyard catching the rays. She is sweet and mellow, easy to care for, nonreactive to dogs or people while out and about and fully potty trained. She loves attention, belly rubs are her favorite and for any and all love/affection, she is all in. Do you have a yard for Roxy to lie in the sun? Will you take her on many walks, car rides and fun in the water? Oh, and she likes home cooked meals and wants to be the only dog in the household. We know that is a lot to ask but Roxi is looking for a special person who wants to continue spoiling a special dog. Could that be you?

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
