My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Snowflake, a dog whose energy is more like a blizzard than a soft, gentle snowflake! Snowflake is a high-energy pup with a heart full of potential, and he's ready to put his energy to good use. He's currently on a training plan to help him become the best boy he can be. With positive reinforcement, he's learning to keep his paws on the ground and improve his basic manners. He does have a mischievous side and loves to play with and even chew any soft toy, leashes etc. He loves them so much they may even end up becoming his next snack! He will need durable chew toys and a watchful eye to keep him safe. He's still got some work to do, but he's eager to learn and is making great progress! and he LOVES treats!

Snowflake thrives on a consistent routine and needs his brain kept busy to prevent him from acting out like a playful toddler. Mental stimulation, enrichment and structure are key to helping him stay happy and well-behaved. He'll do best in an adult-only home with no other pets, where he can receive the focused attention and consistency he needs to thrive.

Snowflake's playful spirit and eagerness to please will melt your heart, and with the right guidance, he's sure to be the loyal, loving companion you've been looking for!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
