Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.
Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Mickleton, NJ for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit.
Meet Clover! Clover is a 7-year-old, 13lb., mystery pup who was found as a stray. Her coat was a mess and she had a mass on her body. We grabbed her right up.
Clover was brought to the vet and received a dental, spay, and had an infected hair follicle mass removed. She is still receiving medicated baths to help her itchy skin and her fur has not yet grown back in. She looks super cute in jammies though! Clover is blind and hard of hearing. She is not potty trained yet but will use pee pads. Her ideal home would have someone around most of the time for frequent potty breaks outside. Due to Clover’s blindness, she will need to be carried up and down steps and a fenced-in yard would be best for safety. She enjoys the outdoors and walks fairly well on a leash. Clover gets along well with dogs and cats and would do great with dog-savvy children. She eats wet food, is pen-trained, and sleeps in a dog bed.
Clover is a sweet and special dog who is described as a couch potato. She is super happy to keep your lap warm or curl up next to you while you watch tv. Her foster mom says she reminds her of a cute little pig. With tongue out and bows in her hair, this sweet pup couldn’t be any cuter. Can you please find room for her in your home? Apply today!

The goal of Senior Dog Haven & Hospice is to find the best home possible for our senior dogs. To assist us in this endeavor, SDH&H requires a fully completed application, references, and a visit to your home by one of our trained volunteers. For this reason we only process applications within a reasonable commute from the dog's foster home.
Our adoption fee is $200, however we offer a discounted rate of $150 for senior adopters over the age of 65.

More about this rescue
We are a small, dedicated group of fosters and volunteers. We strive to improve the lives of senior dogs who find themselves without a family to care for them anymore. We do not have a facility. Our dogs live in our homes as members of our families. We provide care, comfort, companionship and, most of all, unconditional love. We have worked in senior rescue for years, and see the continuing and growing need to get them out of shelters where they are often euthanized because of their age and/or medical reasons, or from owners that find themselves in crisis and no longer able to care for their companions (nursing home, illness, abusive situations, etc).
Senior Dog Haven and Hospice is a registered 501(c)3. All donations to our rescue are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
