Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sarah, a delicate and sweet girl who has been through a lot in her life. After running loose on the streets for over a year, Sarah was finally caught and taken to AWL, where she has been receiving the love and care she deserves. Although she is still very shy and fearful of everything and everyone, she has been making progress with the help of the kind people at AWL who walk her often.
Sarah has recently undergone surgery on her hip to address her incontinence issues, and we are pleased to report that the surgery was successful and she is all healed up. She has been in foster care and has been enjoying meeting other pups in the neighborhood. Although she isn't much of a barker, she will let you know if trouble is brewing. Sarah is also very food motivated and has nice manners.
Sarah is looking for a quiet and gentle home with no small kids, where she can continue to heal and overcome her fears. She is a wonderful companion and will be a loyal and loving addition to the right family. If you are interested in welcoming Sarah into your home, please reach out to AWL.

The AWL is here to find the best match possible between adopters and the animals in our care. Keep in mind that a pet’s personality is way more important, and it’s best to try to find a pet that will fit into your lifestyle.

More about this shelter
The Animal Welfare League is a non-profit organization committed to advocating for animal protection and welfare. We are based in Port Charlotte, Florida. Since 1963 our shelter has served the Charlotte County community by providing a temporary home, medical service and caring attention for many dogs, cats and other animals. These animals come to us as strays, pets given up by their owners, unfortunate animals rescued from abuse and neglect, or simply lost pets in need of being re-united with their families.
