My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jethro! Jethro is a 1.5-year-old make white lab mix with a heart full of love and an endless zest for life. He's a playful, energetic pup who adore making friends with both people and other dogs. Jethro is currently participating in the Paws in Prison program, where he's learning valuable training skills from the women inmates, ensuring he'll be well-mannered and ready for his forever home!

If your looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will brighten your days, Jethro is the perfect match! Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the  loving home he deserves?

More about this rescue

We are a prison located in Lockhart TX. We rescue dogs from rural area shelters and take them into the prison for training on basic obedience. They are also house trained and crate trained. Training is done by the women inmate handlers. A professional trainer comes to the prison weekly to teach the inmates how to train the dogs. Dogs live at the prison for 2-3 months, in the cells with the inmates, while they are being trained.

All dogs are up to date on their shots, heartworm negative and on preventative, spayed/neutered, microchipped and trained for basic obedience.
