You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Roxy is a female Corgi / Basenji mix (we think) She is @ 25 lbs, @ 4 years old. She loves riding in the car.
She is wonderful with children. Another dog will help her come out of her shell and gives her a chance to experience what a dogs life should be.
Update from Roxy's foster:
" I have had Roxy in my home since May 27th. Roxy is a sweetie, playful and loving once she trusts you. I have 2 baskets of toys and she explores them daily. She plays by herself or with my other dog. In the beginning, she was afraid to cross a door threshold, particularly coming in from outside. I would prop open the storm door and she would come in on her own. On May 31st, she ran in while I held the door. She crosses the kitchen threshold with not problem. Big accomplishment.
She does do well with another dog. My dog has been showing her "the ropes." Roxy has responded well. We are working on basic commands. Roxy knows the word "come," she just needs to learn I want her to come each time I say it

.
She has learned "wanna go outside" and "down" (for lay down). Roxy is crate trained and does well. I am still working on her cues as to when she needs to go outside. I learned after she has been playing hard, she needs to go out....just like a puppy.
Roxy has been introduced to other dogs and people. She does really well with other dogs, but people need to be a little patient. Stay Tuned for more updates."
June 3, 2016....Another Foster Update:
Roxy continues to learn and adapt. She has learned "Kennel" means to get into her crate. At times, she needs a little additional encouragement, but if I just point to the crate, she scampers in. She would love to sleep with me, but I'm letting her "forever family" make that decision. I learned, last night, if she whines in her crate, she needs to go outside. Otherwise, she is a very quiet dog.
Roxy loves to be loved on and have her nose kissed. She continues to develop confidence.
June 21, 2016:
Roxy has adjusted so well to love and cuddling. She definitely loves to be touched. I have had no issues with her listening to her name and knowing the word come. I have a lot of toys and she does not get bored. If her forever family has another dog, she plays very well. Roxy also loves alone time with her owner. There are a couple of toys she has grown very fond of. I have no problem letting her take them with her. Stay tuned for more! I did post another picture.
July 24, 2016:
Roxy has come so far. She has done well when socializing with people. It does not take as long for her to warm up to others. She has developed some trust for humans. She plays independently, with people, or with other dogs. Although she likes balls, her favorite toys, so far, are squeaky toys. I don't think I have mentioned she walks very well on a leash, no pulling. She is such a sweetie, and is still waiting for her forever family. :-)
Roxy would be a wonderful dog for someone whose heart is as big as hers !!!
