My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Amara!

Are you looking for a gentle, timid, kid friendly, dog friendly, low maintenance, loyal, low energy house trained, easy dog to join your family? Then, Amara is for you.

Amara may not have had the best life being confined to a kennel, and overbred, but boy you wouldn’t know it, she’s so loving to all humans, very gentle and just overall is the sweetest girl you could meet. That is honestly an understatement. Anyone who has met Amara through the rescue has fallen in love with her. She is estimated to be 5 years old, spayed and overall in good health.

Amaras typical day is to laze around in bed until humans are ready to get up, go potty, eat and then settle back down for a nap, and on repeat. Although Amara loves her humans, a dog companion would be preferred to keep her company but isn’t compulsory.

Amara has been tried and tested around young children, and numerous dogs and has done great. Did we say she’s easy?? Not cat tested but we feel she’d be okay. Amara would be better with a fenced in back yard. Sleeps in crate at night (does need heavy duty crate).

Amara rarely barks, only if the door goes. You’ll often find her following her foster around, sleeping or in the kitchen. Amara is blossoming into a beautiful happy girl, with small spurts of energy every now and then and is learning what toys are.

Can you love this girl? Set up a meet and greet with Amara and you will not regret it. Her foster says she’s the sweetest foster she’s ever had.

To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
