My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

`P as in Phoebe, H as in hebe, O as in obe, E as in eve, B as in Bebe, and E as in, hello there, mate` Phoebe is a 4 year old retriever mix who was found as a stray by Animal Control with a huge litter of pups in tow. They were still very young when they came in so she continued to care for them even when she was not in good health. As a mother she put her babies first. Now each of them has found a family, except for Phoebe. She nurtured and cared for her children...but now that they are gone she finds herself lonely. She searches for a family to care for her. She dreams of long summer walks outdoors by the beach, and being spoiled with snacks. She is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will be spayed upon adoption. Are you looking for a FRIEND? Cause we know she`ll be there for you!

Additional adoption info

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
