Meet the Pet
This helps Just Giant Rescue Inc - Illinois Chapter with pet care costs.
Hi, I'm new to rescue. Please check back to learn more about me once I settle into my foster home, decompress and receive medical care. Follow Just Giants on Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok to watch my journey and receive updates.
Mika has been in foster care for two days and has really come out of her shell. She was very timid on day one, but quickly starting showing a desire to get attention from her foster family on day two. She's now starting to show her playful side. She hasn't met the resident dogs yet, so we are unable to comment on if she get's along with other dogs yet. Mika hasn't had any potty accidents in the house, but she hasn't indicated a need to go out either. She is let out when the resident dogs go out (but separately right now) and she has gone potty each time. Mika is very timid. Mika is very thin and let's you know when she's hungry. The resident dogs are fed breakfast and dinner and that's Mika's schedule, however she also wants lunch. She is very sweet and and gets excited to see her foster family, even if they have been out of the room for just a few minutes.
On night two, Mika made it clear she didn't want to go into her crate, but ultimately gave in. She fussed for about 30 minutes, but we didn't hear a peep out of her after that.
If Mika were adopted today, we would say her adopter needs to give her time to adjust to her new home and family. She warms up somewhat quickly, but when it comes to her surroundings, she's a bit anxious at first. A fenced yard would be great so she can run off her extra energy. It appears a first time giant owner would get a good fit for Mika as she is a gentle girl.
Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online application with the $25 application donation. All approved applications are good for 12 months. Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. All dogs adopted from Just Giants Rescue are up to date on vaccines (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Some exceptions may apply. All adoption fees are non-refundable; Just Giants is a NFP 501(c)3 organization.
