My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you would like more information about Grayson or are interested in adopting him, please send an email to elizabeth.campbell92@yahoo.com

I found Grayson and his family at an abandoned house in spring 2023 when he was a puppy. I had nowhere to take them, so I continued to visit and feed and water them until I had built a shed with a fenced yard. Grayson is fixed and up to date on all vaccines.

Grayson is a very shy dog, but he really wants to be friendly. I have had every friend who comes over pet him in the hopes he will get less shy. When you leave him alone, he will come up and give you many sniffs and possibly kisses and sometimes he will paw at you to get your attention.

He doesn’t usually eat from a bowl. He prefers to take large bites and run off and eat them elsewhere. The few times he does stay, 99% of the time backs off from food if anyone else approaches his bowl. I occasionally sit by his bowl to shoo the others away so he feels more secure about staying and eating from it.

Grayson loves treats, is very motivated and has learned to take them gently. He knows “sit”, “shake” (both paws) and he’s working on “down”. I am close to getting him to learn “speak” and he’s been doing this funny sit up on his hind legs thing I’m thinking on working on as a trick. He needs more training to learn which things are okay to chew. More activity and play time could also help.

Overall, Grayson is a good dog who very much wants to be a normal pup but is just scared to come out of his shell. He will fall asleep if you scratch his head just right and clipping his nails is no problem.
