My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meko

Available for Foster to Adopt

Are you looking for a best friend who doubles as a professional sunbather and cheese connoisseur?

Hi, I'm Meko!

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I'm a one-year-old husky with bright blue eyes and a fluffy white coat that I'm finally starting to fill out nicely! You see, I had a rough start when I was found wandering the streets of Chicago. The nice people at Animal Control took me in and then C.A.R.E. found me.  I was pretty skinny back then. Now I'm living with my amazing foster family who are helping me get healthy and strong!

Can I tell you about my favorite things? First off, I'm a total sun worshipper! Rain or shine, you'll find me lounging outside, soaking up the rays like it's my job. And speaking of jobs – I've appointed myself as Official Family Supervisor. I like to keep my foster parents in sight at all times (you know, just to make sure they're doing okay!).

Oh! And I should mention my sophisticated palate – I'm quite the connoisseur of fine salami and cheese. My foster dad discovered this about me, and let's just say I'm not ashamed of my refined taste buds! When I'm not sampling delicacies, I love playing with my toys, especially my tennis ball. It's my absolute favorite!

I'm looking for a forever family who will appreciate both my stunning good looks AND my loving personality. I promise to be your loyal companion, sunshine-basking partner, and personal salami taste-tester!
Want to meet? I'd love to show you my tennis ball collection and maybe share a slice of cheese!

I will be neutered and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey

Love and husky hugs, Meko

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
