My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Princeton, TX
DOB: 07/01/2020

Meet Range Rover, a big guy with an even bigger heart looking for a place to park forever. At 4.5 years old and 101.2 lbs, this lovable Dane x Catahoula mix has certainly had his fair share of bumps in the road, but he’s still rolling strong, ready to find his people.

Range Rover’s journey has been anything but smooth—he was first dumped at a church, then found his way to a shelter. He was adopted, but after two incidents with young kids that no one can quite figure out, he found himself back at the shelter. Now in a foster home, he’s been dealing with a resident dog who’s not exactly his biggest fan, which has left him a little nervous and more prone to hiding.

Despite his rough past, Range Rover is potty trained, car-friendly, and an absolute gem at the vet. He loves playing fetch, chasing squeaky toys, and will win you over with his gentle, loving nature. He’s great with older kids, teens, adults, dogs, and even cats—he’s just a happy, talkative guy who’s full of energy (and could stand to shed a few pounds!). So no apartments for him—he’ll want to make sure everyone knows when he’s excited!

Range Rover is very laid-back when it comes to food and bones—no resource guarding here—and he’s not bothered by being touched or poked. He’s got a lot of love to give and will need some leash manners help (but who can blame him for being a little extra excited on walks?).

If you’re looking for a fun, sweet, and talkative companion who’s ready to leave his tough past behind and cruise into a loving home, Range Rover could be the perfect match. Let him hit the road to his forever home with you!

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
