My name is Padma Patil!

Meet Padma Patil! Padma Patil is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We are currently taking applications for Padma Patil, and she will be able to go home with an adopter after her spay surgery in mid-February.

Born in September of 2024, Padma Patil is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Labrador Retriever mix puppy with silky black fur, adorable floppy ears, and warm chocolate eyes.  She has the sweetest face! We estimate she will be in the 40-60 lb. range when grown. Padma Patil and her sister apparated from a shelter in Texas; they hope to cast a spell and find new homes in the PNW. Part of our Wizarding World orphan litter, this delightful girl will bring some magic into your life!

Padma Patil in the books was a Ravenclaw, and our Padma displays some of those house traits. She is a happy, curious girl who likes to explore her new environment. Like many Ravenclaws, she can be introverted, and when she decides you are one of her people, she gives you all her loyalty and affection. Friendly Padma Patil does well with other dogs and cats; she has fun playing with the children in her foster home. After some romping (she’s a medium energy pup), she will jump up on the couch to join you for some snuggles. She is quite content to have you all to herself.  Our Padma Patil might not excel in Potions Class; she finds the bubbles in her auto feed water bowl a bit disconcerting, so no bubbling cauldrons for her.

Padma Patil takes her studying seriously, and she is diligently working on her skills. She has no trouble spending long periods of time in her crate and sleeps through the night. Padma Patil has begun leash and potty training, and she will start obedience shortly. She is a curious girl who is eager to learn.

Padma Patil’s ideal home?  This sweet, affectionate girl seeks someone to love who will love her in return. Lots of snuggling and playtime would make her the happiest of pups, and siblings of the dog, cat or kid kind would be lovely. What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process?

Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days.

1. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!).


2. Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process.


3. Meet your potential pup at the home of the foster family (the process may differ slightly for long distance adopters).


4. Bring your potential pup home for a no commitment In Home Trial. In Home Trials are a minimum of (2) nights for a puppy and one week for an adult. Your Matchmaker will check in with you during this time.


5. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member!

Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue

• Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.


• Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course.


• Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon.

About Path of Hope Rescue

• At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes.


• We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment.


• Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events.
