Meet Leni, a lovely girl recently welcomed to Sioux Falls Canine Rescue. She is a Miniature Poodle. She weighs 11 pounds and is 5 years old. With a friendly and curious nature, she's always ready to greet you with an open heart and a little wag of her tail. This sweet girl is eager to find her forever home and become your new best friend.
Though she's still adjusting to her new life, her warm personality is already shining through. She adores her foster mom and loves to be by her side at all times. She would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time.
*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.
Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received minimal socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience.
